HISTORY POETRY COMPETITION
The History Poetry Competition was instituted to ensure that
from whence we came shall not be forgotten.
The competition ran from 1997 to 2001.

This contest was
open to poets, researchers, and historians alike, who have authored poems which
promote, generate, and rekindle interest in history and its many valuable
lessons. Acceptable history themes ranged from recorded historic events, explanation of historic events, biography, narrative, comedic, historical concerns, or other themes.
Entries could be written in any style, fiction or nonfiction, in two categories: American Civil War or General History.
